#13 Cal State Northridge Overwhelms Occidental, 21-6

Northridge, Calif. – Cal State Northridge recorded its largest of margin of victory in the 2013 season with a 21-6 victory over Occidental in a non-league women's water polo game on Thursday night at Matador Pool.

The 21 goals were just one short of the school record in a 22-4 victory over LaVerne last season.

Earlier this year, CSUN, ranked 13th in the country, scored a 16-4 victory over Occidental (3/2/13) at the Cal Lutheran Invitational

Ten different Matador players scored at least one goal. Jenny Jamison led the CSUN attack with four goals. Lindsy Nelson, the Big West Player of the Week, and Celena Photopulos each added three goals.

Earlier in the day, Cal State Northridge featured a balanced scoring attack as nine different players scored at least one goal in overwhelming Bucknell University, 18-7.

Marisa Young led the Matador attack with four goals while Molly Henehan added three goals. Four other players scored two goals; Melissa Doll, Haley Gurriell, Jenny Jamison and Leah Janke.

Cal State Northridge dominated the game from start-to-finish. The Matadors scored five of the game's first six goals.
