The Cal State Northridge women's tennis team completed a solid weekend of play Sunday at the Cal State Fullerton Fall Intercollegiates. Senior Anna Yang won the singles consolation draw and teamed with fellow senior Sabrina Man-Son-Hing to win the main draw in doubles competition.
Yang and Man-Son-Hing, who both earned 2012 All-Big West honors for their work in doubles, wrapped up their weekend with a 8-2 victory over Long Beach State's Sarah Cantlay and Anna Jeczmionka in the event's finale.
In reaching the finals, Yang and Man-Son-Hing also defeated the 49ers' Eva Rodriguez and Klaudia Malenovska 9-7 in the semifinals. The duo also picked up wins over Portland State and UC Irvine en route to the event's title.
Also competing well in doubles qwas the team of Lorraine Chung and Corrinne Schynder. In the "B" doubles flight, the duo posted wins over Concodia and Cal State Los Angeles before succumbing to a team from UC Irvine.
In singles, Yang rebounded from an opening round loss to rally for the Consolation title at the event. She toppled UC Irvine's Marivick Mamiit 7-6, 2-6 and 10-7 to win the consolation draw. To get there, Yang also posted wins over Concordia, Portland State and Southern Utah.
