Earned first team all-league and first team All-City honors when he averaged 12 points and seven rebounds per game as a forward during his senior year at Taft High School in Woodland Hills (Calif) … Maxwell was the team's second leading scorer with 323 points ... Helped lead his team to a 28-3 record and a first place mark of 10-0 in the West Valley League during his senior campaign ... Also helped Taft HS to the Los Angeles city championship ...
