He increased his season high to 1.2 innings pitched when he came into the game as a reliever against #22 UCLA. Leyba set new highs with three strikeouts in two innings against Northwestern. He pitched 1.1 innings and did not get a decision against San?Francisco (3/2).?Leyba matched his season high with 2.0 scoreless innings against Rhode Island (3/14).?He also threw a scoreless inning at #13 Cal State Fullerton (3/30), retiring the side in order.?Leyba pitched 1.1 scoreless innings and did not allow a hit at #11 UCLA (4/17). Leyba played two seasons of baseball for the Highlanders at the varsity level and his team went 45-12 during that time. He was both an infielder and pitcher for Coach Maye and graduated in 2011 with a 3.1 GPA.
