Guard Gives CSUN Four Signees for 2016-17
NORTHRIDGE, CA ---
The CSUN women's basketball program has added Terrin Sullivan to the 2016-17 roster after the high school product signed a National Letter of Intent, CSUN head coach Jason Flowers announced. A 5-8 guard, Sullivan has been a prolific scorer and rebounder during her high school career and gives CSUN four newcomers to the roster for the 2016-17 season.Â
"Terrin is a very talented young woman on and off the court," Flowers said. "She is a great student who is a proven winner and has shown the ability to score at an extremely high level. We are excited about her joining our family and helping us reach our goals."Â
Sullivan prepped at three high schools in Southern California, starting at Lou Danzler High School as a freshman, Douglass High School as a sophomore and junior and Middle College High School as a senior. Over her four-year high school career, she averaged 20.7 points per game and recorded over 2,600 points. She also averaged 8.6 rebounds, surpassing 1,000 for her career, 4.7 assists and 2.8 steals per game.Â
Sullivan was an accomplished scorer in her time with the Lions and earned two-straight First Team All-CIF LA City honors after her sophomore and junior seasons. As a junior at Douglass, Sullivan averaged 24.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.8 steals per game to earn Division 5 Player of the Year honors for the LA City CIF.
As part of the 2015 CIF State Girls Basketball Championships, she scored 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a road victory at Flintridge Prep. In her  two seasons with the Lions' varsity squad, she averaged over 20 points per game.Â
In her senior season at Middle College High School, she was named to the All Open Division LA City CIF Section Team, was the Max Prep/WBCA Region 8 Player of the Week on Jan. 17 and was a Cal HI All-State Nominee for the second-straight year. Sullivan averaged 25.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.4 steals per game as a senior and played her club ball for her father, Terrence Sullivan, and the Inglewood Revolution.Â
Sullivan gives CSUN four NLI signees for the 2016-17 season. CSUN signed a pair of incoming freshmen who signed NLIs in the early period during the fall of 2015. Lauren Shymkewicz is a 6-3 product from Ralston, NE while Eliza Matthews is a 6-1 local product from Long Beach Poly High School. Most recently, the Matadors added Australian guard Lizzie Tonks to give CSUN four international students on the roster.Â
