Cal State Northridge Wins Two Games at SDSU Invitational

San Diego, Calif. – Kelcie Ferreira scored the game-winning goal with 2:17 to play in the fourth period to lift 13th-ranked Cal State Northridge to an 8-7 victory over 11th-ranked Indiana on Sunday afternoon at the Aztec Invitational at San Diego State.

The Matadors led 7-5 in the fourth period, but two goals by the Hoosier tied the game at 7-7.

Lindsy Nelson scored three goals to lead the Matador attack. Nelson scored six goals in two games on Sunday at the Aztec Invitational.

Kiernan Davis had a career-high 18 saves.

Earlier in the day, Nelson scored three goals to lead Cal State Northridge to an 8-2 victory over Bucknell at the Aztecs Invitational.

Defense prevailed in this game. CSUN held Bucknell scoreless in the second and third periods while running up a 6-1 lead.

Molly Henehan and Jenny Jamison added two goals.

This was the second straight victory over Bucknell in the last four days. Last Thursday, the Matadors scored an 18-7 victory over the Bison.
