Irvine, Calif. – Cal State Northridge junior attacker Lindsy Nelson has been selected the Big West Women's Water Player of the Week as she carried the Matador offense to a 1-1 split last weekend against nationally-ranked opponents.
Nelson scored a combined seven goals in an 11-10 win over #13 UC Davis, and a 9-8 loss to seventh-ranked San Diego State. Nelson scored the seven goals in an efficient ten attempts for a .700 shooting percentage.
Against the Aggies, Nelson recorded three goals to go along with one assist, one steal and one field block.
Nelson helped the Matadors pull off the near upset of the Aztecs with a game-high four goals (in six attempts) while adding two field blocks, one assist and one steal.
