CSUN Tennis Falls 4-1 to UC Santa Barbara at Big West Tournament

The Cal State Northridge women's tennis team (10-11) lost 4-1 to UC Santa Barbara at the Big West Tournament in Indian Wells, Calif., Friday morning. Despite winning two of three doubles contests to take an early 1-0 lead, the sixth-seeded Matadors lost the first four singles matches to complete and had their season end at the hands of the third-seeded Gauchos.
CSUN got out to a quick start Friday morning. The No. 1 doubles team of seniors Anna Yang and Sabrina Man-Son-Hing picked up an 8-2 victory. That improved their final season record to 14-6, all at the No. 1 draw.
Leading 1-0, CSUN could not hold on to complete the upset bid. Jessica Warren, Man-Son-Hing and Alexis Marquez all fell in straight sets with Marquez losing on a tiebreaker in the second set. UCSB closed out the contest in the top draw, as Pistalu also fell in straight sets.
Yang and Cheung were still competing at the time of Pistalu's loss and left their matches unfinished.
The Matadors ended the season at 10-11 overall and were 4-5 against Big West Conference opposition.
