Matadors In Fifth After First Round of Morehead State Spring Kickoff

OXNARD, Calif. - Sophomore Ashlee Nagamine is tied for 10th and senior Stephanie Aston is tied for 13th after one round of the Morehead State Spring Kickoff at River Ridge G.C. As a team, Northridge is fifth after an opening round 324.

On a rare Sunday of action, the Matadors trail Florida International (298), Eastern Michigan (308), host Morehead State (313) and UC Riverside (318) among the eight teams in the tournament. The teams will play another 18-hole round Monday and finish on Tuesday with an 18-hole shotgun start.

Nagamine fired a six over-par 78 on Sunday with a 37 on the front nine and a 41 on the back. She is currently eight shots behind individual leader Belen Buendia of Florida International carded a two under-par 70.

Ashton is currently tied for 13th at seven over-par 79, while Monique Huijsman is 23rd after an opening round (+11) 83, Sarah Windsor is tied for 24th at (+12) 84 and Katrina Sutton is tied for 29th-place at (+13) 85.
