NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - A pair of practice rounds are in the books and CSUN senior Clariss Guce is set for round one of the NCAA Championships which open Tuesday morning at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
The Matador senior is scheduled to tee-off the first round at 8:25 a.m. CDT of the first tee. The second round is scheduled for Wednesday with Guce set for a 12:45 p.m. tee time off the 10th tee. Thursday's and Friday's tee times will be based on results of the first two rounds. Four rounds and 72 holes will face the field of 126 individuals and 24 teams. Guce is one of six individuals in the championship field.
The Tulsa Country Club course will play to a par 70 and measures 6,194 yards for the championship.
Guce, the Big West Women's Golf Player of the Year, is making her first appearance at the NCAA Championship after earning CSUN's first berth since Beth Allen in 2004. Allen wound up tied for 22nd in 2004 with a five-over 293 over four rounds.
This season, Guce led the Matadors in scoring with a school-record 73.38 scoring average which broke Allen's 10-year old school record of 74.41. Guce posted four wins in 2013-14 including tying for first at the Big West Championship. The senior fired a low round of the season 67 in the second round of the Fresno State Classic (Mar. 17) and also had a 68 in round one of the NCAA West Regional as well as a 69 which she accomplished three times.
