INDUSTRY HILLS, Calif. - Senior Ellen Krausse is tied for ninth while the Cal State Northridge women's golf team sits fifth after two rounds of the Folino Invitational at Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms.
Krausse, looking for her first top-10 finish of the 2011-12 season, opened with a (+8) 79 on Sunday before carding a (+4) 75 on Monday. The senior, who has 11th and 15th-place finishes this season, is tied for ninth at (+12) 154 heading into Tuesday's final round. Montana's Tara Green leads the field at even-par 142.
Fellow senior Kylie Kimura also improved from the first round to second round as she posted a (+3) 74 on Monday after an opening round (+10) 81 on Sunday. Kimura is currently tied for 16th at (+13) 155.
Sophomore Margo Dionisio is is tied for 23rd at (+15) 157 following rounds of 77-80, Sharon Shin is 39th at (+20) 162 after rounds of 80-82 and Jennel Alexander is tied for 63rd at (+29) 171 following rounds of 89-82.
Lady Samson is also competing as an individual and is tied for 53rd at (+24) 166 after posting scores of 85-81.
As a team, the Matadors carded rounds of 317-311 and sit fifth at 628. Gonzaga leads the 12-team field with a two-round score of 604.
A final round of 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
