Greg Faulkner and Damani Lenore each chipped in eight kills but Faulkner hit .438 on 18 swings and Lenore struggled hitting .045 on 22 attacks but did have a team-high seven digs. Senior libero Charlie Condron had six digs and Holt had five.

The Matadors, who hit .336 and .369 in wins over UCLA and UC Santa Barbara last week, were held in check by the 49ers hitting just .200 (36-17-95) as a team.

On the 49ers' senior night it was senior and Matador nemesis Taylor Crabb who pounded a match-high 17 kills while hitting .469 on 32 attacks. Cody Martin added 14 kills (.444) in the win.
