NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge men's volleyball added another high school All-American when recent signee Andrew Freiha was named to the 2012-13 First Team Boys' High School Senior All-America Team as announced by the AVCA on May 30.
Frieha, one of five outside hitters named to the first team, played for Otay Ranch High School in Chula Vista, Calif.
Since creating the Boys High School All-America team in 2006-07, the AVCA has honored seven future Matadors, most recently Bradley Sakaida and Nick Alegrado who were second team All-Americans in 2011-12.
Sophomore setter Travis Magorien was the last Matador to earn first team accolades from the AVCA when he was honored in 2010-11. Middle blocker Brian O'Gorman was named to the second team that season. Brandon Lebrock, who will be a senior in 2014, was a second team All-American in 2009-10 and recent graduate Matt Stork was a first team pick in 2007-08.
