Michael O'Connor Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - CSUN junior Michael O'Connor was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar in 2014 as announced by the GCAA (Golf Coaches Association of America).

A total of 207 players in Division I earned the honor with O'Connor, a junior Geography major, representing the Matadors.

"Michael is a great example to his teammates that you can be successful both on and off the golf course," said head coach Jim Bracken. "He's shown that you can balance academics as well as manage your commitment to golf. I look forward to Michael and his teammates continuing to excel this season."

O'Connor, who hails from Middlesex, England, finished second on the Matadors in 2013-14 with a 74.9 stroke average. He had a season-best eighth-place finish at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational at Southern Utah (Feb. 10-11).
