NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -
Talk surfaced early Wednesday morning that the Cal State Northridge baseball team is courting Los Angeles Lakers All-Star and future NBA Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant to throw out a ceremonial first pitch at an upcoming baseball series.
"It was something we mentioned within our office. He has the size and the athleticism. Mr. Bryant could throw a quality strike. We thought the odds of word getting out were as slim as finding his phone number," said Head Coach Greg Moore.
The CSUN Matadors are in action this Friday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. when they take on Seattle University in the team's home opener.
