Northridge Series at Portland Adjusted Due to Rain
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -
The schedule for this weekend's Cal State Northrdige baseball series at the University of Portland has been changed, head coach Matt Curtis announced Thursday. Due to ongoing rain and forecasted inclement weather in the Portland area, the times and location of all three games have been adjusted.
Originally scheduled as a traditional three-game series at Jon Etzel Field on the campus of the University of Portland, the weekend will now begin with a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 16 at 11 a.m. The first game of the doubleheader is set for seven innings and game two will be played as a regulation nine-inning game.
There will not be a game played on Saturday, Mar. 17. The series will wrap up on Sunday with first pitch to take place at 12 p.m.
All three games will be played at Hilken Community Stadium at Concordia University in Portland, Ore. The stadium was recently completed in the fall of 2011 and features field turf that will better allow for the games to be played.
A play-by-play broadcast for all three games will be available on GoMatadors.com and fans are also encouraged to monitor Twitter (@GoMatadors and @CSUNBaseball) for ongoing updates related to the series.
