Adam Barry Named to Summer Collegiate All-American Team by Perfect Game USA
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Cal State Northridge Matador outfielder Adam Barry has been named to the Summer Collegiate All-American Team by Perfect Game USA, the organization announced Thursday. Barry was one of 48 national players selected to the team and one of just three players from the Big West Conference to earn the honor.
The All-American team, which is put out annually by Perfect Game USA, is a three-tier list that highlights the collegiate players that compiled the most impressive stats over the summer season. Barry was officially selected to the third team as the designated hitter.
Barry competed for the Bethesda (Md.) Big Train of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League this past summer, setting team and league records in batting average (.414), hits (67) and RBI (43). He also finished the season with 14 doubles, the most in the league.
"We're proud of what Adam accomplished in a very competitive league," said head coach Matt Curtis. "We are excited that he has continued to progress throughout the summer and look for him to provide a steady bat in the middle of the order in 2012."
