Position: Associate Athletic Director, Student-Athlete Welfare and Development

Janet Pinneau is in her 12th year (2013-14) at Cal State Northridge with her current duties as Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Welfare and Development.

Pinneau was promoted to her current duties in 2007 after serving as the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Services at CSUN. Her duties include acting as the liaison between coaches, student-athletes and Admissions and Records. She is also the coordinator for the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and the Champs/Life Skills program.

Pinneau, formerly Janet Sherman, was the Matadors' head softball coach for seven years. Pinneau led the Matadors to a 245-148-3 record from 1995 to 2001 as Northridge made a regional appearance all seven years she was head coach. Pinneau coached the Matadors to a Western Athletic Conference title in her first season and was named WAC Coach of the Year. She also led the Matadors to a Big West title in 1998.

Pinneau was the top assistant coach for Gary Torgeson from 1992-94. She has also coached at Immaculate Heart High School in Hollywood, Hart High School in Newhall and Santa Monica High School.

Pinneau was a four-year, letter winner in softball at UCLA. She helped lead her team to back-to-back national championships in 1984 and 1985. Pinneau's softball accomplishments also include representing U.S. Olympic Festival teams twice and winning an Amateur Softball Association National Championship.
