Miranda, Fopma Named Student-Athletes of September
Men's soccer senior Edwin Miranda and women's volleyball senior Jennifer Fopma were named Student-Athletes of the month for August/September as named by the Student-Athlete Advisory Council on Wednesday.

Miranda is coming off a final weekend of September in which he scored a goal and an assist against UNLV (Sept. 26), was named Big West Conference Player of the Week and was honored on the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. The reigning Big West Defender of the Year has helped the Matadors allow less than a goal a game through the first seven matches.

Fopma has struggled through an ankle injury during the final weeks of September, yet still leads the team in kills per game (4.87) and blocks per game (1.39). The senior has helped the Matadors to five wins and was named Big West Player of the Week on Sept. 15 after helping CSUN to the San Jose State Invitational title.
