As the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team begins Big West Conference play, team members offer some random thoughts aside from basketball and school as the new year begins.

Ashley Blake, senior guard - "My favorite basketball players include Allen Iverson, Dwayne Wade and Chris Paul."

Brittney Blue, sophomore guard - "My mother is my greatest hero."

Bridgette Conejo, freshman guard - "I picked my uniform number (#3) in honor of Allen Iverson. I would also like to switch places with Oprah (Winfrey) for one day."

Bianca Davies, sophomore forward - "I would someday like to visit Puerto Rico and try surfing."

Jasmine Erving - freshman center - "Losing 78 pounds during the 2007-08 school year was the biggest obstacle I have ever overcome."

Charise Hall, sophomore forward - "My favorites include any food my family cooks. I also couldn't live without my family or my IPod."

Whitney Ligon, senior guard - "Someday I would like to visit Africa and Italy."

Kayla Rutherford, junior guard - "My favorites include the movie `Stomp the Yard', Italian and soul food, actor Denzel Washington and the game of basketball because of its energy."

Neeta Sreekanth, freshman center - "I can't imagine going a week without laughing and not living without my cell phone."

Tonicia Tademy, senior guard - "My favorites include the movie `Coming to America', basketball players LeBron James and Dwayne Wade, and enchiladas."

Katrina Thompson, junior guard - "My advice to young peple is to always believe in yourself no matter what people say."

Crystian Trice, senior center - "I would like to own my own business in five years."

Analee Viena-Lota, sophomore forward - "My favorites include the movie `Friday', all types of Hawaiian food and actress Julia Roberts."
