Many outstanding student-athletes have worn the Matador colors of Red, White and Black since Cal State Northridge opened its doors in 1958. An elite list of 99 student-athletes have been inducted into the Cal State Northridge Athletic Hall of Fame.

Pete Accardy - Swimming
* Inducted in 1994
* Head coach of 13 NCAA championship teams
* The first coach in NCAA history to win national championships in the same season in two sports (1982)
* Named the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Coach of the Decade (the 1980's)

Dr. Glenn Arnett - Special Inductee
* Inducted in 1981
* First chairman of the CSUN Physical Education and Athletics Department
* Served as CSUN's first Athletic Director in 1958
* Served as Athletic Director from 1958 to 1978
* Captured 44 league titles and eleven national titles as athletic director

Darcy Arreola Lange - Track & Field

* First NCAA Division I All-American at CSUN in winning an NCAA championship in the 1500 meters in 1991
