The Matadors, who finished 18-15 overall and 11-11 in the MPSF last season, return five starters and 11 letterwinners from last season's squad. Northridge earned its sixth consecutive berth in the MPSF Tournament last April and advanced to the Quarterfinals where the Matadors lost at No. 2 BYU in three games.

The 2008 Matadors will be led by junior outside hitter Eric Vance (2007 honorable mention All-MPSF) along with senior outside hitter Isaac Kneubuhl and senior setter Travis Bluemling among others. A trio of sophomores (Mike Gaudino, Kevin McKniff and Sean Pedersen) and some key newcomers also figure into the game plan in 2008 as the Matadors make a run at their seventh straight trip to the postseason.
