No. 14 Cal State Northridge Falls, 12-4, At No. 4 USC

Los Angeles, Calif. - The fourth-ranked USC women's water polo team is tough to beat at home.

For the 42nd straight time at the McDonald's Swim Stadium, the Trojans recorded a victory, this time over 14th-ranked Cal State Northridge on Saturday afternoon in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) game.

The Matadors are now 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference. USC is 10-4 overall and 3-0 in MPSF play.

Cal State Northridge scored one goal in each of the four periods of play by Dayna Van Gorder, Chelsea Curran, Allison Brookes and Renee Gargiulo. Eight different players scored for the Trojans.

Cal State Northridge kept the game close, 2-1, after the first period, but USC broke the game open with three goals in the second period to take a 5-2 lead at halftime.

Jillian Stapf recorded nine saves in goal for CSUN.

The Matadors return home next Saturday (3/8/08) with a noon game against Long Beach State.
