Third-Ranked Hawai'I Downs #14 Cal State Northridge, 14-10

Irvine, Ca. - The 14th-ranked Cal State Northridge women's water polo team dropped a 14-10 decision to third-ranked Hawaii during first round action at the UC Irvine Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Matadors jumped to a 5-4 first period lead, but Hawaii took a 8-7 halftime lead, and blew the game open in the third period, outscoring CSUN, 4-1.

Jessica Coy and Tara McGinley each scored three goals to lead the Cal State Northridge attack.

The Matadors will play the loser of the San Diego State-Michigan match at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday at Corona Del Mar High School.

Tournament action for Cal State Northridge will continue on Sunday at Corona Del Mar High School.
