La Jolla, Calif. - Cal State Northridge, ranked #12 in the nation, continued second day play at the UC San Diego Invitational on Sunday morning with a 14-6 victory over 18th-ranked Cal State Bakersfield.
No information was provided by host school UC San Diego, but a check of the Cal State Bakersfield website indicated that the Matadors jumped to a 5-1 first period lead, and led 6-1 at halftime.
Cal State Northridge broke open the game, outscoring the Roadrunners, 6-1, in the third period.
The victory advanced Cal State Northridge to a 3:10 p.m. matchup against UC Santa Barbara for the fifth place final standing.
