#13 Cal State Northridge Wins Three Games at Cal Baptist Invitational

Riverside, Ca. - A perfect 3-for-3 was the order of the day on Saturday for the nationally-ranked Cal State Northridge women's water polo team at the Cal Baptist Invitational.

Four goals each by Whitney Delgado and Heidi Pettinger helped propel the 13th-ranked Matadors to a 16-10 victory over Concordia College (Ca). Seven different CSUN players tallied at least one goal.

Earlier in the day, Delgado exploded for five goals to help lead Cal State Northridge to a 12-5 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

The Matadors jumped to a 6-1 first period lead and were never threatened by the opposition.

Lindsy Nelson added three goals for the Matadors.

In the first game of the day, the Matadors exploded for six first period goals and added another six goals in the second period en route to a 17-6 victory over Azusa Pacific.

Five Matador players tallied goals in the first period including two by Delgado. Delgado ended the game with three goals.

Pettinger added the hat trick for Cal State Northridge.

Matador Memo Whitney Delgado has scored a team-leading 16 goals this year ... Delgado now has 131 career goals which moves her into a fourth place tie in the Matador record book with Erica Bonetti (2003=-6).
