CSUN Scores Two Victories at UCSD Invitational

La Jolla, Calif. – Cal State Northridge enjoyed a productive day on Sunday at the UC San Diego Invitational.

On Sunday afternoon, the 16th-ranked Matadors defeated 12th-ranked Long Beach State 4-3. Lindsy Duncan's goal with 2:13 to play in the second overtime lifted the Matadors to victory.

Kelcie Ferreira scored twice while Celena Photopulos tallied CSUN's other goal in addition to the game-winner by Duncan.

On Sunday morning, Ferreira, Photopulos and Marisa Young each scored three goals to lead Cal State Northridge to a 13-5 victory over #20 Santa Clara University.

CSUN scored three goals in each of the first three periods.

In addition to defeating three nationally-ranked teams (#12 Long Beach State, #13 Indiana, #20 Santa Clara) in four games, the Matadors finished fifth at the UCSD Invitational, its highest finish in school history.
