#17 Cal State Northridge Defeats Pomona-Pitzer, 19-7

Santa Barbara, Ca. – Cal State Northridge scored early and often, and totally dominated Pomona-Pitzer, 19-7, on Sunday morning at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational.

The Matadors jumped to a 5-1 first period lead, and never eased up on the scoring pedal. Cal State Northridge added another six goals in the second period to take an 11-4 halftime lead.

Back for more came Cal State Northridge as they easily sifted through the Pomona defense to score five more goals to take a 16-5 third period lead.

Nine different CSUN players scored at least one goal. Six players scored two or more goals. Leah Janke led the Matadors with four goals while Lindsy Nelson and Marisa Young added three goals each.

Cal State Northridge completes the four-game, two-day tournament with a 3:00 pm contest against Sonoma State.
