The Cal State Northridge women's volleyball team will host the Nippon Sports Science University Team (Nittaidai in Japanese) in an exhibition match Saturday at 5 p.m. in The Matadome. Admission is free.

Japan Sports U (or Nittaidai in Japanese) is playing four matches on its preseason tour through California. The team defeated USC in four sets on Mar. 25, is playing at Pepperdine on Mar. 26, Northridge on Mar. 27, and will take on Wisconsin on Mar. 28 in The Matadome.

"The Nippon Sports Science University team is a very traditional type of Japanese team," said Northridge head coach Jeff Stork. "They play with a lot of precision, are very quick and all the players have outstanding all-around skills.

"We're excited about hosting them," added Stork. "I think it's a great trip for them, they are about to start their competitive season so this is a preseason training trip.

The Matadors have met Nittaidai once before as the two teams met in Hawai'i in the spring of 2008.
