IRVINE, Calif. - Senior Rolando Felizola jumped a season-best 50-11 (15.52) to reach NCAA Regional qualifying standard to highlight Cal State Northridge's Sunday performance at the Asics/Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine's Anteater Stadium.
On the track on Sunday, De'Shawn Waters finished fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 10.47 while Ben Santos finished 14th at 10.85. In the 200 meters, Kevin Nious and Nic Taylor both tied for eighth with a time of 21.71 which is a personal-best for Nious. Reindell Cole, who won the long jump on Saturday, finished 10th in 21.75.
Dominique Calvin finished fourth in the 100 meters in a time of 11.94 and was sixth in the 200 with a time of 24.39. Jackie Harrison took third in the 400 meters in a season-best 55.36 while Erika Gallegos (2:22.11) and Leslie Ching (2:24.90) both posted personal-bests in the 800 meters.
Gustavo Hernandez posted a season-best in the men's 800 as he finished 13th in a time of 1:53.85.
The men's 4x100 relay finished first in a time of 40.57 which was just 0.08 off Northridge's season-best.
In the field events, Thomas Johnson took fourth in the high jump at 6-6.75 (2.00) which was off his personal-best of 6-10.75 (2.10). Jonathan Talkington was seventh at 6-4.75 (1.95). Matt Todd matched his season-best of 16-0.75 (4.90) in the pole vault to fiish second.
In the throwing events, Whitney Hooks finished third in the shot put with a throw of 43-7 (13.28) while Claire Morgan was fourth in the discus with a season-best 148-9 (45.35). For the men, Mike Tull finished second to former Matador Nick Garcia in the shot put with a mark of 52-3.75 (15.94) while Chris Fuller was fourth at 50-5.25 (15.37). Tull was also fifth in the discus with a mark of 159-1 (48.49).
