Lofton, a senior from Fairfield, Calif., was one of eight competitors from last weekend's Pentathglon competition at the NCAA Indoor Championships to earn second team All-America honors. She scored 3,814 points to finish 15th Friday at Texas A&M's Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.
Lofton opened the day in spectacular fashion running a personal-best 8.63 to finish sixth in the first event, the 60 meter hurdles. Lofton, who's previous best was 8.77, earned a solid total of 989 points for her efforts.
Horsley, a freshman from Oakland, Calif., won the 100 meters at the Northridge Invitational on Saturday. He ran a meet-best 10.65 in his first outdoor race this season. His time ranks fifth on the all-time CSUN freshman list. Horsley then ran 48.74 in the 400 meters to finish fourth and post the 11th fastest time in freshman history.
