Hafsatu Kamara to Represent Sierra Leone at African Senior Championships

Cal State Northridge sprinter Hafsatu Kamara is scheduled to represent the Republic of Sierra Leone at the 2013 African Senior Championship of Region 2. The meet takes place July 19-20 in Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso.

Kamara, who has citizenship in Sierra Leone, is scheduled to compete in the 100 and 200 meters as well as the 4x100 relay.

Kamara completed her first season at Cal State Northridge in 2012-13 after transferring from Coppin State. She finished fourth in both the 100 and 200 meters at the Big West Championships in May. She ran a season-best 11.61 in the 100 final and ran 23.83 in the 200 prelims at the conference championship meet.

Kamara also ran the second leg of the 4x100 relay that won the Big West championship in a season-best time of 44.43. The Matadors' 4x100 team advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary Round where they finished 17th in a time of 45.43.
