NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Cal State Northridge softball team (23-14, 3-5 BWC) will conclude its three-game series with UC Santa Barbara Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. on the campus of UCSB. The Matadors will look to snap a current five-game losing streak, as the Gauchos took both contests on Saturday.
Originally scheduled for last Friday and Saturday, the series was pushed back a day due to what was expected to be inclement weather in Santa Barbara on Friday. The rain never arrived and CSUN and UCSB played a doubleheader on Saturday. The Gauchos won both games, taking a 7-6 decision in game one and a 6-0 victory in the second game.
The game will be available on gametracker at GoMatadors.com.
Following Wednesday's game, the Matadors return to the friendly confines of Matador Diamond for a three-game series with Cal Poly. The two teams will play a doubleheader on April 18, starting at noon, and a single game on April 19, also starting at noon.
Sunday's contest against Cal Poly is CSUN Softball Alumni day, with all former Matadors receiving free admission to the contest.
The weekend series against Cal Poly is the first of two-straight home series for CSUN. The Matadors close out their 2009 home schedule with a three-game series against UC Riverside on April 25 and 26. The Highlanders and Matadors play a doubleheader on April 25 and a single game on April 26 with both days starting at noon.
