NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Due to inclement weather in the area, the schedule for the 2010 Matador Invitational has been adjusted for Sunday, Mar. 7. The Matadors will now play twice Sunday, facing Santa Clara at 11 a.m. and Saint Mary's at 1 p.m. to close out the schedule.
The first game of the day will begin at 9 a.m. when Santa Clara faces Cal State Bakersfield. The Broncos are the designated home team in that contest.
Northridge will then take on the Broncos at 11 a.m. and the Gaels at 1 p.m. The Matadors are the designated home team in both contests.
Saturday, Iowa got in its final two games of the tournament despite wet conditions. The Hawkeyes and Gaels battled to a 3-3 standstill until the game was halted in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Then, at 2:15, after the weather cleared, Cal State Bakersfield defeated Iowa 3-0. The Hawkeyes were headed back to Iowa City Saturday night.
