CSU Northridge vs. USF Postgame Quotes – 9/28/08

Nancy Avesyan, MF

On scoring her goal against USF:

“We were playing really hard and finally got the cross in. It just came right to my feet and I slipped it in.”

On today’s game:

“It’s disappointing because I know we could have won. I think we were so much better than them and I know we could have worked harder, but we deserved to win.”

On the team’s energy after playing a double over time game:

“I think we could have worked a lot harder. I think that’s just what it was. We could have had a lot more energy out there and we’re just going to go to practice and work harder to improve for the next game.”

Assistant Coach Juan Plascencia

On this thoughts about the game:

“It’s kind of disheartening. It’s tough to not go out at 100 percent. If you go out at 98 percent then that two percent is going to bite you. It’s frustrating.”

On the officiating:

“The officials let them play and when you do that it’s going to get physical. One foul leads to another foul, which leads to another. I though a couple of calls should have been made, but they were not and that’s the game of soccer.”

On the missed penalty kick:

“It definitely hurt us, but we will go back to practice, back to training and work on the little things. We learn and we grow from it.”
