October 26, 2013 CSUN Women's Soccer Defeats Long Beach State 1-0 Freshman Breanna McCallum scored the game's only goal in the 31st minute to lift the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Long Beach State Friday evening in a Big West Conference match at Matador Soccer Field. Sophomore Cynthia Tafoya made three saves in net for CSUN, Brittanie Sakajian and Amanda Smith provided assists and the Matadors recorded their second-straight 1-0 victory over the 49ers.
October 23, 2013 CSUN Hosts Long Beach State, UC Irvine in Big West Action The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (5-10-1, 0-4-1 Big West) plays its final two home matches of the 2013 season this week with visits from Long Beach State and UC Irvine. On Friday, Oct. 25, the Matadors will tangle with the 49ers in a 7 p.m. contest at Matador Soccer Field. Two days later, CSUN squares off with UC Irvine in a 6 p.m. contest that will serve as Senior Day for the Matadors’ four senior student-athletes. October 20, 2013 UC Davis Edges CSUN 1-0 in Double Overtime UC Davis midfielder Ashley Edwards scored in the 106th minute of double overtime to give the Aggies a 1-0 victory over the visiting Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (5-10-1, 0-4-1 Big West) Sunday afternoon at Aggie Soccer Field. The Matadors posted 12 shots and Kendall Moskal rang one off the post, but CSUN saw its five-match winning streak against the Aggies snapped.
October 18, 2013 Lone Match Sends CSUN to UC Davis for Big West Fixture The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (5-9-1, 0-3-1 Big West) faces UC Davis in its lone Big West Conference match of the week, meeting the Aggies on Sunday, Oct. 20 in Davis, Calif. The Matadors and Aggies each have one point on the season as they work towards securing a berth in the Big West Tournament. CSUN has won the past five contests with UC Davis, including a 1-0 decision last year and a 3-1 victory in its last trip to Aggie Soccer Field. Live stats will be available for the contest.
October 15, 2013 CSUN's Breanna McCallum Blazes Own Trail Breanna McCallum, the daughter of ex-NFL running back Napoleon McCallum, has excelled in her first season with the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team. The transition has been challenging, but Breanna has adjusted well to the increased demands.
October 13, 2013 CSUN Falls 1-0 to UC Santa Barbara The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (5-9-1, 0-3-1 BWC) lost 1-0 to UC Santa Barbara Sunday afternoon in a Big West Conference match at Matador Soccer Field. A Gaucho goal in the 14th minute of action proved decisive as the Matadors lost to UCSB for the first time since 2010.
October 10, 2013 Mustangs Post 1-0 Victory over Matadors Kendra Bonsall scored the contest's only goal in the 29th minute as the Cal Poly Mustangs defeated the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (5-8-1, 0-2-1 Big West) Thursday night in a Big West Conference match at Matador Soccer Field. CSUN's Brittanie Sakajian finished with five shots, but Northridge could not find a goal in the second half to tie the match.
October 9, 2013 Matadors Tackle Mustangs, Gauchos in Big West Action The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (5-7-1, 0-1-1 Big West) returns to Matador Soccer Field this week for a pair of pivotal Big West Conference contests. October 4, 2013 Matadors Fall 3-1 at UC Riverside in Big West Opener The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (5-7, 0-1 Big West) lost 3-1 to UC Riverside Friday night in both team's Big West Conference opener at UC Riverside Soccer Stadium. The Highlanders jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to the victory.
October 2, 2013 CSUN Embarks on 2013 Big West Season at UC Riverside, Cal State Fullerton The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (5-6) hits the road to open its 2013 Big West Conference campaign, traveling for contests at UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton. On Friday, Oct. 4, the Matadors head to the Inland Empire to face the Highlanders in a 6 p.m. contest. Two days later, CSUN squares off with Cal State Fullerton in another 6 p.m. tilt. September 26, 2013 CSUN Hosts LMU in Final Tune-up before Start of Big West Action The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (4-6) closes out its 2013 non-conference schedule with a visit from the Loyola Marymount Lions on Friday, Sept. 27 at Matador Soccer Field. Kickoff between the Matadors and Lions is slated for 6 p.m. and will be the first official meeting between the clubs since the 2011 season.

September 15, 2013 CSUN Completes Comeback in 2-1 Victory at Fresno State Brittanie Sakajian and Amanda Smith scored second-half goals to lift the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (3-5) to a 2-1 victory at Fresno State Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match. Trailing 1-0 after nine minutes of action, the Matadors scored in the 51st and 70th minute to down the Bulldogs and have now won three of their last four matches.
September 12, 2013 Matadors Post 3-1 Victory over Oregon State Chloe McDaniel, Camille Watson and Hannah Wissler all scored to lead the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (2-5) to a 3-1 victory over Oregon State Thursday evening at Matador Soccer Field. McDaniel and Wissler both successfully converted attempts from the penalty spot while Watson's first career goal stood as the game-winning strike as the Matadors downed the Beavers.
September 11, 2013 CSUN Women's Soccer Prepares for Matches with Oregon State, Fresno State The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (1-5) begins a stretch of four of its next five games at home by hosting the Oregon State Beavers in a non-conference match on Thursday, Sept. 12. Kickoff between the two squads, their first meeting since the 2009 season and CSUN’s fourth opponent from the Pac-12 Conference, is slated for 7 p.m. Three days later, CSUN plays its final non-conference road contest of the season, traveling to Fresno State for a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday, Sept. 15. September 8, 2013 Matadors Fall 3-1 at Texas Tech Junior Hannah Wissler scored her first career goal by heading home a free kick in the second half, but the Cal State Northridge women's soccer (1-5) lost 3-1 to Texas Tech Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest in Lubbock, Texas. The Red Raiders scored in the third and 39th minute of the first half and added a third in the second half to claim the first-ever meeting between the two schools in women's soccer.
September 6, 2013 McCallum's Heroics Send CSUN Past Houston in Overtime, 2-1 Brittanie Sakajian scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute of action to lift the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (1-4) to a 2-1 overtime victory over Houston Friday night at Matador Soccer Field in a non-conference match. The Matadors forced overtime against the Cougars when Breanna McCallum scored the tying goal with one second left in regulation.
September 5, 2013 Pair of Lone Star Opponents Await CSUN in Houston, Texas Tech The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (0-4) hosts the University of Houston in its 2013 home opener on Friday, September 6 as part of a CSUN soccer doubleheader with the men’s program. The Matadors and Cougars are slated for a kick off of approximately 7:30 p.m. as the teams will play following the CSUN men’s squad’s contest vs. San Diego. Friday will also feature a free Matador Fan Fest on the adjoining Intramural fields that will run from 4-7 p.m.
September 2, 2013 CSUN's Captain Chloe Entering her senior year and final season at Northridge, Chloe McDaniel has certainly exemplified the qualities that lift a captain above the masses of able bodies. McDaniel has bucked that trend and enters her third season as the captain of the CSUN women’s soccer team. Although her journeys with the defending Big West Champions has certainly not led to the peril that plagued her more famous counterparts, she carries herself as a leader in everything she does.

McCallum tied the match midway through the first half on a cross from Amanda Smith, but two second-half tallies from USD's Emily Dillon pushed the Toreros to the victory.
August 30, 2013 Matadors Drop 4-1 Decision at No. 22 USC Despite a penalty kick goal from Chloe McDaniel in the 66th minute, the Cal State Northridge (0-3) lost 4-1 at No. 22 USC Friday afternoon in a non-conference contest at McAllister Field. McDaniel scored the Matadors' first goal of the season from the spot midway through the first half, but it was not to overcome a USC offense that led 3-0 through 50 minutes of action.

A center back from Palmdale, Calif., McDaniel was one of 30 candidates selected from a national pool that best exemplify the award's four tenants: community, classroom, character and competition.
August 17, 2013 CSUN and Seattle Battle in Exhibition Contest In front of nearly 500 fans, the Cal State Northridge women's soccer team battled with Seattle University in a 110-minute exhibition contest Saturday night at Matador Soccer Field. The Matadors and Redhawks played to a 1-1 draw as sophomore Kendall Moskal scored the CSUN goal.

Jacobo, the two-time Big West Goalkeeper of the Year, became the first Matador in school history to receive First Team All-West Region Honors while Fernandez (Second Team) and McDaniel (Third Team) added to CSUN’s record haul.

September 9, 2011 Matadors Earn 2-2 Draw with Purdue at Boilermaker Challenge The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (1-4-1) earned a 2-2 draw with Purdue Friday evening at the 12th Annual Boilermaker Challenge Cup in West Lafayette, Ind. Heidi Farran and Chloe McDaniel scored for the Matadors, who ultimately prevailed in an exhibition shootout over the Boilermakers to advance to the championship match Sunday.
September 7, 2011 Northridge Heads to Indiana for Boilermaker Challenge The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (1-4) ventures over 2,100 miles for its next two matches as it heads to West Lafayette, Ind., to compete in the Boilermaker Challenge on the campus of the Big 10 Conference’s Purdue. At the event, the Matadors will square off against the host Boilermakers on Sept. 9 and then face a challenge from either the Flyers of Dayton or the Jayhawks of Kansas on Sept. 11.

August 24, 2011 Northridge Heads to Lone Star State for Contests with Big 12’s Baylor and Texas The Cal State Northridge women’s soccer team (0-1) takes its first road trip of the 2011 season this week when its heads to Texas to square off against a pair of opponents from the Big 12 Conference.
