NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -
The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team is looking for managers, scout team members and ball girls for the 2008-09 season. These positions represent a unique opportunity for fans and the general public to become a part of a Division I women's basketball program.
Walk-ons and scout members should report to Matador Hall on Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. to meet with the coaching staff for a mandatory meeting.
Scout team members are male, full-time students whose responsibilities include participating in drills and simulating opponent plays. Scout players must be available during practice hours and all interested students must have eligibility remaining in order to participate as member of the scout team.
If interested in becoming team managers, please contact assistant coaches Abby Vaughan and Cory O'Dell. Included in the responsibilities of being a team manager are setting up practices, helping the team film games and practices and assisting with road trips and home contests. Managers often travel with the team.
Ball girls will assist the Matadors during 2008-09 home games, working under the baskets to help keep the floor in safe playing conditions. They will also assist teams in pre-game and halftime warm-ups with ball distribution.
Coach Vaughan can be reached at (818) 677-4949 and Coach O'Dell can be reached at (818) 677-6662.
