NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (0-12, 0-2) lost, 88-44, Saturday afternoon to UC Santa Barbara (7-6, 2-0) at The Matadome. Junior Ashley Blake tied a season high with 11 points, while junior Crystal Hahs and senior Katie Holloway each recorded 10 points in the defeat.

Blake connected on two 3-pointers in the game and also had two assists in the game. She also recorded one rebound, one assist and one steal in 22 minutes of action. For the season, Blake is averaging 4.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Holloway, who netted a career-high 27 points against Cal Poly in the Big West Conference opener on Jan. 3, finished 4-of-8 from the field and tied a team high with six rebounds. She is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.4 ppg on 48.5 pct. shooting to go along with a team-best 7.5 rebounds per game.

Hahs reached double figures in the game after going 5-of-8 from the field. The Big West Conference leader in blocked shots, Hahs had one in the game to go along her two steals. She is now third on the team with a career-best 6.3 ppg.

Junior Whitney Ligon saw her double-digit scoring streak snapped at nine as she finished with six points on 2-of-13 shooting from the field. She remains the team's leading scorer, averaging 12.4 ppg.

The Gauchos finished the game shooting 53.8 percent from the field (35-of-65) and was 11-of-21 from 3-point range. Five UCSB players reached double figures, led by Meagan Williams' 16 points.

Northridge shot 29.8 pct. from the field (17-of-57) and finished with 10 steals, led by three each from freshman Analee Viena-Lota and junior Tonicia Tademy. The 44 point margain of victory was the largest for a Northridge opponent since the Matadors lost 105-60, also to the Gauchos, on Jan. 6, 2002.

The Matadors head out for their first Big West road trip next week, playing conference newcomer UC Davis on Jan. 10 and Pacific on Jan. 12. Tip off against the Aggies is at 7 p.m. while the Matadors and Tigers will square off at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
