NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (0-3) lost to the University of San Diego (2-1), 64-51, Wednesday night at The Matadome. Sophomore Analee Viena-Lota posted her third career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while freshman Bridgette Conejo came off the bench to score a season-high 14 points in 19 minutes.
After finishing the first half with only one field goal, Viena-Lota went 6-of-9 from the field and grabbed six rebounds in the second half. She also finished with one block, assist and steal in the game.
Viena-Lota has now started all three games for the Matadors and is averaging a team-best 13.0 points-per-game. She also leads the team with 23 rebounds on the season, an average of 7.7 per contest.
In addition to her 14 points, Conejo added a team-high five steals in the contest. She finished 6-of-10 from the field and is now averaging 6.7 ppg. She is also leading the team with a 53.8 percent clip from the field (9-of-16).
The Matadors headed into the half trailing 32-18 after shooting only 26.7 percent from the field. Conejo led the team with nine points at the break.
In the second half, Northridge outscored the Toreros, 33-32, and shot 42.9 percent from the field. The Matadors' defense limited San Diego to only nine field goals in the stanza.
Seniors Tonicia Tademy, Ashley Blake and Crystian Trice all made solid contributions for Northridge. Tademy dished out seven assists while Blake added four more and had zero turnovers in 21 minutes. Trice set new career bests with four points and six rebounds.
