NORTHRIDGE, Calif. ---

The Cal State Northridge women's basketball program will hold try-outs for the 2013-14 team on Thursday, October 17 from 6-8 p.m. in The Matadome. The team is also looking for men's practice players for the upcoming 2013-14 season. All interested parties in both open tryouts and in being a male practice player should contact assistant coach Mario Trutanic

In order to tryout for the women's basketball team, interested parties must complete the following steps. All participants must be enrolled in 12 or more units at CSUN. All participants must complete entire try-out packet and turn it in to Coach Mario Trutanic Matador Hall. There is a mandatory meeting on Monday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. in Matador Hall.

All participants must have physical exam and sickle-cell disease test, which can both be done at the Klotz Student Health Center on campus.  Results are due at time of the meeting.

For more information on the try-outs or requirements, please contact coach Mario Trutanic at (818) 677-4949 or via e-mail at mario.trutanic@csun.edu

CSUN Students interested in being practice players must be a full time student enrolled in 12 or more units at CSUN. Participants must be available to practice, which range from 8 – 11 a.m. in the Fall, and 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Winter/Spring.

Being a practice player represents a great opportunity to continue playing basketball, be part of one of the upcoming basketball programs on the West Coast and gain first hand-experience with Matador head coach Jason Flowers and his staff.

Participants will be responsible for being part of a scout team, receiving instruction from the coaching staff, and simulating opponent plays.

Participants will be eligible for early registration and will receive CSUN basketball gear.

All participants must complete packet, completed physical exam with a sickle cell disease test, which can be done at the Klotz Student Health Center on campus.

For more information on practice players with the California State University Northridge women's basketball program, interested parties are asked to contact CSUN assistant coach Mario Trutanic at mario.trutanic@csun.edu or 818-677-4949.
