The Cal State Northridge women's basketball program has hired Thomas Osburn as its Director of Operations prior to the start of the 2013-14 season, Matador head coach Jason Flowers announced. A veteran with over 20 years of experience in Southern California boys' basketball, Osburn will have administrative duties and other responsibilities at CSUN.

"I am excited to be joining an upcoming program and contributing to the team's success," Osburn said. "I have been able to watch Jason mature and develop from a young man to an outstanding head coach."

For the past two decades, Osburn has been a successful high school boys' basketball. His student-athletes went on to play throughout all the divisions of NCAA intercollegiate athletics.

He spent 10 years at Bellflower High School as the head coach and was Flowers' head coach during his time with the Buccaneers. Most recently, Osburn was the boys' basketball head coach at Cavalry Chapel Downey, where he led the team for 11 years. In 2006, the team finished as the CIF Division V Runners-up.

He also spent several seasons as the softball head coach at Cavalry Chapel Downey. His squad captured the 2011 CIF Division VI Championship and three of his student-athletes have committed to Division I softball programs.

"We are thrilled to be adding a person of Coach Osburn's experience and character to our program," Flowers said. "Coach Osburn brings an immeasurable knowledge of the game and life that should be of great value to our student-athletes on and off the court."

Personally, Osburn has been married to his wife Suzanne for over 30 years and the couple has two sons, Anthony and Corey. The couple resides in Anaheim and he received a degree in Behaviorial Science from National University in 2000.
