The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball program has added former San Francisco standout Rheina Ale as the program’s Director of Operations prior to the start of the 2012-13 season.
Ale was a four-year starter and three-year team captain for the Dons and will assist with academics, video and other administrative duties with the Matadors.
Originally from Carson, Calif., Ale recently completed her eligibility with the Dons on the court and graduated from the University of San Francisco in May of 2012 with a degree in Communications.
As a member of the Dons’ women’s basketball program, Ale holds the top spot in school history for minutes played and is second in both free throw percentage and 3-pointers. She totaled the fifth most starts in USF history and finished ninth in scoring in school history.
With the Matadors, Ale will be responsible for a number of administrative duties. Ale ha some familiarity with the Matadors and the Big West Conference. Her cousin is former Matador standout Analee Viena-Lota and her sister Kristen is a member of the basketball program at Cal Poly.
Ale will be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Journalism and resides in Los Angeles County.
