Northridge Signs Drew Staker, Marty Lorenz to National Letters of Intent

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge men's volleyball coach Jeff Campbell announced that he has signed Drew Staker and Marty Lorenz to National Letters of Intent to play for the Matadors.

Staker, a 6-8 middle blocker from Centennial High School in Las Vegas, Nev., is the first player to sign with Cal State Northridge during the early signing period. Staker was a member of the Gold Division Champion Vegas Aces 18's at the USA Volleyball Junior Olympics in 2008. He helped lead his Centennial High School team to a 17-3 record in 2008. Staker also competes for the Vegas Valley Volleyball Club.

Lorenz, a 6-6 middle blocker from Ferris High School in Spokane, Wash., is the second player to sign with Cal State Northridge during the early signing period. Lorenz also competes for the Spaceneedle Fuze U-18 squad.

"We're very excited to have both of these exciting and athletic players come into our program," said Campbell.
