AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore Reindell Cole won the section A of the men's long jump at the Texas Relays to highlight Cal State Northridge's second day of competition.
Cole jumped 25-9.50 (7.86) on his third attempt to capture the title. Also on Friday, Rolando Felizola finished sixth in the men's triple jump at 49-08.50 (15.15) and Derek Cooper finished ninth in shot put at 54-2 (16.51).
Stephanie Ralls finished third in the women's javelin at 142-10 (43.45) and Thomas Johnson set a personal-best with a high jump of 6-10.75 (2.10) to post a regional qualifier and place fourth.
On Saturday, the Matador women's 4x100 meter relay team of Dominique Calvin, Sherrina Lofton, Tara Prier and Shelese Ruffin finished eighth in a time of 45.63.
The Matadors also sent their pole vault team to compete in the UCLA Invitational where both Matt Todd (16-0.75) and Brittany Hamilton (11-1.75) matched their season-bests.
