Huge Turnout for Inaugural All-Comers Meet of 2010

480 athletes and spectators were treated to glorious weather and a trio of Olympians during the first Matador Track and Field All-Comers Meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 9.

Results from Saturday's meet will be posted on the track and field page at by midweek.

On a balmy winter Saturday, track fans were treated to an appearance by Felix Sanchez, Miki Barber and LaShinda Demus.

Sanchez, the 2004 Olympic gold medalist in the 400 meter hurdles in Athens, runs for the Dominican Republic.

Barber won gold in the 4x100 meter relay at the 2007 IAAF World Championships and was part of the 2000 Olympic 4x400m relay pool, but she did not compete in Sydney.

Demus won a gold medal for the United States in the 4x400 meter relay at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin. She is also a two-time silver medalist in the 400 meter hurdles.
