Juan Olea finished 13th in the 10,000 meters at the Big West Championships ... ran a lifetime-best time of 32:17.19, a 12-second improvement over his previous best ... also ran CSUN season-bests of 15:24.37 in the 5,000 meters and 8:52.95 in the 3,000 meters during the outdoor season ... finished 12th in the 1,500 meters in a season-best 4:10.24 at the Tiny Lister Classic ... ran the 5,000 meters during the indoor season, posting a season-best of 15:32.45 at the UW Invitational ... was named MPSF All-Academic following the indoor season.

2010
Olea qualified for the 10,000 meters at the Big West Championships for the third consecutive year ... finished 13th in a time of 32:53.12 ... clocked a career-best 32:29.44 at the Cal-Nevada Championships (Mar. 28) ... also posted a career-best 15:19.16 in the 5,000 meters at the Steve Scott Invitational (May 2) and a personal-best 4:09.05 in the 1,500 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational (Apr. 16) ... ran an indoor season-best 8:56.69 in the 3,000 meters at the Boise State Invitational (Feb. 13) ... was the Matadors' top men's cross country runner finishing 42nd in 25:42.7 at the 2009 Big West Cross Country Championships ... advanced to the NCAA West Regional in Oregon where he placed 140th in a time of 34:11.70 ... best finish of the season was 24th (16:02.55) at the Northridge Cross Country Invitational.

Finished 19th in the 10,000 meters in a season-best time of 33:13.78 at the Big West Championships ... posted season-bests of 2:05.00 in the 800 meters, 4:12.71 in the 1,500 meters, 9:16.96 in the 3,000 meters and 16:17.78 in the 5,000 ... did not compete indoors ... finished a Northridge-best second at the Bakersfield Quad Meet during the 2008 cross country season ... went on to finish 60th at the Big West Cross Country Championships.
