Matador Track & Field Finalizes 2012 Northridge Invitational
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge head coach Avery Anderson has finalized the 2012 Northridge Invitational which will take place Mar. 16-17 at the Matador Track & Field Complex.
The Invitational will also include a Multi-Event competition on Mar. 15-16.
Competition is open to university, junior college and open athletes, both men and women. We anticipate running heats in all events, with the top nine fastest entered times forming the first heat, etc. Relays have been added to accommodate runners unable to get in the meet.
ENTRY: Direct Athletics. Per New NCAA rules- Since this is an early season meet, a PR from 2011 may be used to enter athletes.
ENTRY DEADLINE: March 12, 2012, 7:00PM. Entries will be posted by 5:00PM Thursday March 15. Marks may be challenged by e-mail. The challenge period will end at noon on Wednesday March 14. Thank you for your co-operation.
$15.00 per entrant (total, not per event) $10.00 per relay entered. MAXIMUM TEAM ENTRY: $650.00 FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN COMBINED: $325.00 FOR MEN OR WOMEN. All college fee's to be collected at Northridge.
ALL CLUB AND UNATTACHED ENTY FEES ARE TO BE PAID UPON ENTRY TO DIRECT ATHLETICS.
All athletes and coaches will enter the track area through the south gate.
CLERK OF COURSE
The clerk will be located at the southeast corner of the track. Scratches should be made to the clerk as soon as possible. Please report 45 minutes ahead of scheduled running event. Re-report 10 minutes prior to race time for final lane assignments.
Hammer Friday at North Campus throwing facility located North of Lassen, West of Zelzah, Near Fullerfarm. Weigh-ins start at 11:00 AM.
Shot and Discus Saturday at North Campus throwing facility located North of Lassen, West of Zelzah, Near Fullerfarm.
Javelin Throw will take place Saturday at the track.
Weigh in for Javelin is back side of weight room.
All implements will be weighed in from 7:00 AM until 2:00 p.m. only. No implements will be weighed or allowed into the competition after 2:00 p.m.
Please use the south field for all your warm-up activity.
FALSE START RULE - NCAA RULE
A false start (1) will eliminate any individual or team from the race.
Will be available, but each school must provide its own towels and security.
The games committee will determine the starting heights after the entry deadline in order to permit the best possible competition.
The javelin runway is polyurethane. 3/16" max spikes allowed. No Christmas tree spikes allowed.
