Joe Franco started all 19 matches at right back for Northridge as a co-captain in 2011. He finished the year with three assists and three points and also had eight shots, two of which were on goal. His assist against then-No. 7 UCLA (10/22) gave the Matadors their second goal and helped them come from behind to defeat the Bruins on the road for the first time in school history. For his efforts in 2011, Franco was named an All-Big West Honorable Mention.
Franco competed in all 19 games for the Matadors, his second season accomplishing that feat. He served as a team captain for Cal State Northridge in 2010 and had one assist on the year, a throw-in that led to Daniel Yoon's equalizer at then-No. 7 ranked UC Irvine, a game that the Matadors would go on to win.
Franco competed in all 20 games, one of five student-athletes to accomplish the feat and the only first-year player to see action in every game. He scored his first career goal at UC Riverside (9/30) and took a total of seven shots, four of which were on-goal.
Franco redshirted the 2008 season.
