NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -
After finishing the regular season as the top scorer in Division I soccer, Cal State Northridge junior forward Sagi Lev-Ari was named one of 29 finalists for Soccer News Net's College Boot. The College Boot honors NCAA Division I Soccer's Player of the Year on both the men's and women's sides.
Lev-Ari finished his second season with the Matadors with 16 goals, six assists and 38 points. He tied for the national lead in goals scored and led all players in points. Lev-Ari also put up one of the most prolific individual campaigns in CSUN history, tying for seventh in the school record book for goals scored and ninth in points.
The College Boot will be awarded in January after the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament and fan voting accounts for 40 percent of the overall process for determining the winner. Fans may vote as many times as they wish and voting closes December 19th.
There is no registration process required for voting and no limit as to the number of votes an individual may cast. As of this writing, Lev-Ari is currently in fourth place in the voting with eight percent.
