Former CSUN Soccer Player Signs Contract with Tampa Bay

Former Cal State Northridge soccer standout Devin Del Do recently signed a two-year contract to play professionally with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League, the club announced last week. Del Do competed for the Matadors from 2005-09 and was named an All-Big West Conference Honorable Mention following the 2006 season.

"Devin is a hard worker and very talented," said CSUN head coach and reigning Big West Coach of the Year Terry Davila. "He has never given up on his dream of playing professional soccer. He was a joy to coach and a pleasure to be around and I am sure he will make a positive impact for Tampa Bay."

Del Do began his professional career in 2010 after signing with the Minnesota Stars, now Minnesota United FC, of the NASL. In three seasons with Minnesota, Del Do scored nine goals and added three assists in 45 matches.

He began the 2013 season on trial with Tampa Bay and started in three group matches of the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic for the team. The Rowdies extended a two-year offer, with the second season being a club option, to the 26-year old from Valencia, Calif.

In 70 matches for Cal State Northridge, Del Do scored nine goals and added nine assists for 27 points.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies begin the 2013 regular season on Saturday, April 6, with a home match against the Carolina Railhawks.
